DESCRIPTION:Our Þorrablót is just a few days away and this year promises to be the most fun and memorable Spring celebration our club has ever had. Dare to try ram testicles or rotten shark? We have lots of new surprises\, special guests\, games for the kids and a terrific silent auction including Icelandair tickets\, so be prepared! DESCRIPTION:Note: This will be our last Icelandic film night for the 2010/2011 season. Nordic Nights will resume in the fall of 2011. \nDOUBLE BILL! \nOlavia & Fjöla – The Johnson Twins is a documentary by Jon Gustafsson on the mother and aunt of Linda and Sonja Lundström. \nSPECIAL GUEST Linda Lundström! \n \nHorizons is a documentary on the work of Icelandic sculptor Steinunn Thorarinsdottir\, whose show BORDERS at New York City’s Dag Hammarskjold Plaza runs March 24 to September 30th . \nDirected by Frank Cantor (2009). World-renowned Icelandic sculptor Steinunn Þórarinsdóttir has created a group of 11 life-size figures for exhibition throughout the U.S. This film shares her creative process from her studio and foundry in Reykjavík to the first installation in New York. With images of the Aurora Borealis and music from Björk\, one sees\, hears\, and feels that art is a universal language to explore the human condition.28 min.
